Agree to Accept

We have to agree to accept the past as it is. No one can change the past and we shouldn’t dwell on it. However, just because we know we cannot change it and we know we shouldn’t dwell on it, sometimes putting the past out of our mind is not always the easiest thing.

The reason I say “agree” to accept is because acceptance means you have come to the realization of a truth and are at terms with it, but that doesn’t mean you agree with it. You only agree when you think something is being done or has been done the way you consider appropriate and convenient for you.

For example, let’s say you have claimed compensation from a company of $1000. They may offer you $600. You may accept that $600 is all that you’ll get all the while not agreeing that it’s reasonable.

If we can agree with the circumstances of our past that we know are true, then maybe we can start walking down that road to forgetting and moving on.

No matter what burdens you bare, or where life leads you I hope you’re always at peace with who you are and where you’ve come from. You are a beautiful person and deserving of all the joy that you can find in this world.

Wishing you all the best.
